Ribbon the Mouse in her studio
Mice have been with us since humanity's earliest days- yet despite their sweet, curious, and intelligent nature, mice are commonly thought as vermin with malice intent and idiocy. I draw such parallels to the classisms of the wealthy, who historically have preached and still speak that people " like them ' were superior and sharper, thus justifying their prejudice and domination; despite their ideals being a psuedo-science that has been debukned multiple times. Using the taxidermied house mouse as a symbol of marginalized, Ribbon the mouse shows off her talents in printmaking, book arts, ceramics and much more demonstrating that anyone can succeed if given the correct resources, and that socio-economic status is the strongest factor for victory.
